If you are having problems with your computer then the answer is simple... get it
fixed before it becomes more serious. Most computer problems experience a ‘domino
effect’ and generally get worse as time goes by. If you are not having problems,
then a minimum of one tune-up a year is a must (If you use your computer several
times a week, then I recommend a tune-up frequency of 6 months.) Of the hundreds
of computers I’ve tuned up over the years, I can only recall ‘one’ that didn’t need
it. This is like your car... when it is new it gets high mileage and you fill it
with gas every couple of weeks. However, as time goes by the mileage drops... you
are filling it more frequently, but don’t even realize it. The same is true of the
computer...STUFF ACCUMULATES and slows the computer down and makes it prone to developing
problems. Cleaning that ‘stuff’ out and rearranging the files lets the computer run
more efficiently.
This is even more important now that the SPYWARE pandemic has come on the scene.
Where just a few years ago all you needed to be secure was a good AntiVirus program,
that's no longer the case. Now, in addition to AntiVirus protection, you must have
Spyware detection and removal programs, a firewall, and the latest Microsoft Critical
Updates.
