- Clean out all 'WINDOWS TEMP' files.
- Clean out all 'COOKIES, TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES, AND INTERNET HISTORY FILES'
- Install/update/run the latest SPYWARE PROTECTION PROGRAMS and remove any spyware
found
- Check out your ANTI-VIRUS protection and remove any viruses found.
- Check out your FIREWALL and be sure it is activated at startup.
- Update all of 'MICROSOFT's CRITICAL UPDATES'
- Perform a 'SPECIAL DEFRAG' (if found to be necessary).
- Run special diagnostics on the Windows Registry (the database of the windows program)
- Clean up the 'WINDOWS STARTUP SECTION'. These are programs which install at startup
and run in the background. They use system resources and can slow down the computer.
- Install/update the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. This program is a must if you want
to access information from any government agency (such as Medicare, IRS, etc.)
- Install the latest versions of Java and Adobe Flash... both needed for safe web browsing.
- Clean up unnecessary icons on your desktop.
- Check your overall computer settings and set same for optimum performance.
